Matthew Tkachuk reportedly turned down an $88,000,000 contract
Matthew Tkachuk is the center of trade rumours at the moment. Tkachuk's availability will likely push JT Miller and Vladimir Tarasenko to the back burner for most teams. It wasn't long ago though that the Flames were engaged in contract talks with Tkachuk's representatives.
According to sources connected with the Calgary Flames:
Matthew Tkachuk turned down an 8-year contract that would pay him $88,000,000. The deal would have had an annual value of $11,000,000 and along with the deal would have come the role of captain.
Tkachuk and his representatives turned down both items.
With trade rumours already swirling you have to feel bad for Flames fans who went from winning the Pacific Division to being in a rebuild in a matter for 2 weeks.
