Minnesota Wild make a surprising decision in goal ahead of game 1
It appears the Minnesota Wild are hedging their bets on experience heading into their 1st game of their playoff matchup with the St. Louis Blues. Today the Wild announced that Marc-Andre Fleury would be their starting goalie.
When the Wild acquired Fleury the intention was for him to grab hold of the starters net, but unfortunately that hasn't been the case. In 4 of his last 5 starts Fleury has posted a save percentage below .895 including an embarrassing showing against the Arizona Coyotes.
While Fleury has struggled Cam Talbot has been rock solid. Talbot has gone 13-0-3, since March 1st and posted 3 shutouts. While it makes sense to want to use the player you acquired at the deadline it doesn't make sense to not go with your best chance to win.
So will the Wild regret starting Fleury?
