Multiple players placed on waivers, including a player who was just traded for
The NHL Trade Deadline is schedule for Friday and multiple teams have gotten a jump on things. Today two teams have taken the opportunity to place two players on waivers ahead of the waiver deadline.
Yesterday the New Jersey Devils acquired Timo Meier and Scott Harrington in a deal with the San Jose Sharks. Today the Devils made the decision to place Harrington on waivers. This will allow the Devils to assign Harrington to the AHL and clear his cap hit, which could allow them to make additional deadline moves.
The Buffalo Sabres placed Michael Houser on waivers after the goaltender signed a 1-year contract with the team. Houser, 30, has yet to play a game for the Sabres, but has been with the team's AHL affiliate.
Teams will have until 2 pm tomorrow to put in waivers claims for either player.
