Today the NHL in agreement with the Nashville Predators announced that Predators' forward Michael McCarron had entered the NHL's Player Assistance Program.

The National Hockey League Players' Association and National Hockey League announced today that forward Michael McCarron of the Nashville Predators will be unavailable to his Club for an indefinite period while he receives care from the player assistance program of the NHL and NHLPA.

Under the terms of the joint program, McCarron will continue to be paid while receiving treatment. He will return to the Club when cleared for on-ice competition by the program administrators.

McCarron's care will be administered pursuant to the NHL/NHLPA player assistance program.

McCarron was drafted 25th overall in the 2013 NHL Draft by the Montreal Canadiens. McCarron signed with the Predators last summer, agreeing to a two-year deal. McCarron will continue to be paid his $750,000 per year contract while he seeks treatment. In 15 games this season McCarron has a goal and an assist.

Our thoughts are with McCarron as he seeks out the help and assistance be needs.
