NHL player busts open another player during summer league scrap
Some players spend their summers getting into better physical shape or rehabbing injuries. Teddy Blueger like many other NHLers spends his summers playing hockey in Da Beauty League. Over the weekend Blueger's team played in the John Scott Cup Semi-Finals.
While most players are playing to just stay in shape, Blueger was playing for keeps. After putting up his 7th point, running up the score to 12-3, Blueger was forced to answer the bell for his goal.
Blueger, who plays for the Pittsburgh Penguins, dropped the gloves with Vinni Lettieri. Lettieri spent split time last season between the Anaheim Ducks and the San Diego Gulls.
While tempers flared I'm sure both the Pittsburgh Penguins and Boston Bruins, who now hold Lettieri's rights, were holding their breath. Lettieri was busted open in the fight giving the clear decision to Blueger.
