Newest Toronto Maple Leafs player lands a questionable hit and gets fed his lunch for his troubles
The Toronto Maple Leafs were unable to continue their winning streak against the Arizona Coyotes last night losing 6-3. It was the debut for newly acquired Dryden Hunt. Hunt came over from the Colorado Avalanche in exchange for Toronto forward Denis Malgin. Hunt tried to make an immediate impact in the game by playing physical and then fighting Coyotes forward Jack McBain.
It all started when McBain was facing the boards and getting the puck as it came around the boards. Hunt hit McBain from behind and he fell to the ice. No penalty was called on the play, although there probably should have been a boarding call there.
Not long after that altercation, McBain and Hunt were battling for the puck again and this time McBain dropped his gloves and a scrap followed. The fight took some time to get going as both players tried to maintain their balance and get in position. Hunt landed two good right hands to the face of McBain to start the fight. After that, McBain came back with a few right hands of his own. Hunt fell over and that was the end of the fight. Watch the replay below.
From Toronto's perspective, it was good to see Hunt get into game action and provide a physical presence on the ice. Jack McBain had quite a night for the Coyotes. He had the fight and two goals.
