With the NHL Stanley Cup playoffs right around the corner this is the most exciting time of the year. Everyone is wondering who is going to win the Stanley Cup. However, this year odds makers are having a tough time deciding who the odds on favorite to win the greatest trophy in sports is.
A lot of the Hockey Insiders believed it was the Colorado Avalanche who are the odds on favorites, but after the trade deadline it's been said it was now the Florida Panthers. TSN's Craig Button weighed in saying the Calgary Flames have what he called the "perfect team" heading into the playoffs.
However, BetMGM Las Vegas chimed in with who they believe is the odds on favorite, sharing that the Colorado Avalanche are still in the lead for betting but also shared that they believe the Carolina Hurricanes look like the best bet to win the Stanley Cup."
MGM sports would go on to say:
Defense wins championships, and no team is as strong in their end as the Canes. Carolina has arguably the best defensive core in the league and Frederik Andersen has been great in net for them this season. BetMGM also put the Toronto Maple Leafs on the list, with some value at +1200, but the Leafs even thoufh they have world class talent haven't had any playoff series wins in years. Not to mention right now the Leafs are having goaltending issues.
The Finals could possibly be a battle between the Avalanche and the Panthers BetMGM puts it like this:
The Panthers are the one team in the NHL that can go blow for blow with the Avs on offense. They don't have as many elite scorers, but the Cats hit you with a much deeper roster.
