With the Chicago Blackhawks having another disappointing season the Blackhawks are a team currently with an identity crisis. They got some of the league's top stars, but they aging and the team has now committed to a full rebuild.
Things got worse within the Blackhawks when General Manager, Kyle Davidson dealt Brandon Hagel to the displeasure of Blackhawks' forwards Johnathan Toews and Patrick Kane who didn't approve of that trade.
Jonathan Toews and Patrick Kane both shared their frustrations with the Blackhawks in interviews that sparked the NHL rumour mill to go crazy with speculation about Kane and Toews. Nothing happend at the trade deadline but according Buffalo Sabres' hockey insider John Vogl he revealed where Patrick Kane could play next season.
John Vogl believes that there is a very good chance that Blackhawks' star Patrick Kane could be heading home and playing for the Buffalo Sabres. Vogl revealed there could be a potential move between the Sabres and Blackhawks saying:
You're not delusional and you're not alone. Kane was the subject of several mailbag questions, and I've called for his arrival a few times in recent years this could be a deal this off-season.
This would be huge for the Buffalo Sabres, bringing in Kane, who is a 3 time Stanley Cup winner. Vogl also revealed what it could possibly take via trade:
Two firsts, a prospect and more is the likely starting point. With the Sabre's window just opening, that's too much for a guy with only one year remaining on his contract.
Only time will tell if this trade happens, but bringing a player like Patrick Kane to Buffalo would help bring respect back to this franchise and would also put asses in seats.
