Andrew Copp was traded to the New York Rangers in March, for Morgan Barron and 3 picks, 2 conditional on where New York ended up in the playoffs.

The New York Rangers ended their season against the Tampa Bay Lightning in the third round, unsuccessful against Andrei Vasilevskiy and despite that, they had a very good season.

Copp said he'll be re-evaluating his future with his agent soon, given the open wound of the loss is fresh. He has shelved the decision on his UFA status as well, as it sounds like he has a lot to think of in the meantime.

Since the Rangers made it to the 3rd round, the Rangers 2022 2nd round pick, has been upgraded to a 1st round pick now.

Copp had a great year, netting 21 goals and 32 assists, for a career-high of 53 points.

Copp signed a one-year, $3.64 million contract with the Jets on Aug. 12, 2021, to avoid a salary arbitration hearing and can become an unrestricted free agent after the season. The 27-year-old forward scored 35 points (13 goals, 22 assists) in 56 games.
