Ottawa Senators have officially traded Connor Brown
The Ottawa Senators and Pierre Dorion have had one of the best off-seasons in recent memory. Today the took another step towards their opening day roster by clearing some cap space by making a trade.
According to TSN's Bob McKenzie, the Washington Capitals have acquired forward Connor Brown from the Ottawa Senators.
The 28-year-old appeared in 64 games last season scoring 10 goals and 29 points. He's been a strong two-way forward for the Senators in recent years.
In 444 career NHL games with the Senators and Toronto Maple Leafs, Brown has 90 goals and 216 points. Brown has one season left on his contract, which carries a $3.6 million cap hit.
The Capitals also added goaltenders Darcy Kuemper and Charlie Lindgren, center Henrik Borgstrom and defenseman Erik Gustafsson so far in free agency.
