The Florida Panthers were back at home for game 2 looking to even their series up with the Washington Capitals. The Panthers came out hard from the moment the puck dropped until the final buzzer, out shooting, out playing and even out hitting the Capitals. The Capitals found it impossible to respond physically without Tom Wilson in the lineup.
The Panthers would take advantage of this and we're punishing the Capitals all game. Especially, Patric Hornqvist who would land a couple memorable hits on TJ Oshie and John Carlson, but late in the 2nd period, Hornqvist would absolutely run over Marcus Johansson with a heavy body check that sent Johansson hard into the boards. Johansson was clearly in some pain as he made his way to the Caps' bench.
After the hit Hornqvist would get the last laugh as he'd be seen talking shit and laughing at the entire Caps bench.
The Panthers would go on to win the game 5-1, the series will now head to Washington all tied up.
