Rec league player snaps stick over opponent's face during heated exchange
We've seen how wild Saskatchewan men's league can get and apparently that also applies to summer league hockey.
In this video posted to Twitter in what appears to be a pickup game, you see two skaters engage in the corner of the ice. After the original hit, the two clearly exchange words and a bit if stick with. I don't think anyone expected what happened next.
As the player in blue approaches he raises his stick and forcefully cross checks the player in the red jersey in the face. The force of the blow snaps the man's stick and leaves his opponent in significant pain.
A play like this should result in serious punishment. We will update as any information becomes available.
