Last night the Boston Bruins and Tampa Bay Lightning faced off for the first time since the infamous comment made by Jack Edwards about Pat Maroon's weight. Before the game Edwards approached Maroon and tried to bury the hatchet. Initial reports shared that this conversation didn't go how Edwards had hope.

Now reporter Matt Porter,of the Boston Globe shared exactly how the conversation went between the two men.

In a 10-minute dressing-down in the Lightning's dressing room, the burly forward ripped into the longtime NESN broadcaster, who showed up at Maroon's stall after the team's morning skate at Amalie Arena.

In full view of reporters, Lightning players, and team employees, the 34-year-old Maroon told the 65-year-old Edwards how little he appreciated his comments about Maroon's weight.

Maroon had every right to share his frustrations and credit to Edwards who took the opportunity to apologize in person and was willing to take the tongue lashing.

Porter also shared how the rest of the room reacted to this situation.

'Edwards mostly stood and took it without interjection. The length and intensity of the one-sided conversation had the attention of most everyone in the room.'

At one point the conversation became so heated that teammate Ian Cole prepared himself to potentially interject himself to protect his teammate from any potential discipline.

I'm just watching to make sure Patty doesn't rip his head off.

Hopefully this is the end of this situation and both Edwards and Maroon can put this behind them and move on. But this situation definitely makes a Bruins versus Lightning playoff series sound rather exciting come this May.
