The Calgary Flames have been re-surgent with the shuffle in leadership and talent. They've won 5 games and lost 1 and sit right below the Vegas Golden Knights in the Pacific Division.

With the addition of Mackenzie Weeger, Nazeem Kadri, and Jonathan Huberdeau, the Flames have bolstered both sides of the puck and have a relatively deep goalie lineup in Jacob Markstrom, Daniel Vladar, and Dustin Wolf.

Yesterday the Flames underwent a very difficult practice, but afterwards rather than calling it a day the entire team decided to get in some extra work.

We just witnessed the hardest practice in the Darryl Sutter 2.0 era. An absolute bagger. You'd think the guys would be exhausted and immediately head off, right? NOPE. Every single one still out there doing extra work. They're a different breed.

Sutter has recently come off a Jack Adams trophy-winning season in 2021-2022, where a rejuvenated Flames squad made it to the 2nd round and put up a fight to the end with their Alberta brethren, the Edmonton Oilers.

The discipline in the practice above shows how much buy-in he has with the veterans and youngsters on the team.

The veteran coach's record with the Calgary Flames goes to show, why the two-time Stanley Cup winner was extended:

Sutter compiled a 107731515 record in parts of three seasons behind the Calgary bench.

Sutter's winning percentage is above highly-touted coaches like Tortorella easily as he sits at .602% in three seasons, as well.
