Rodion Amirov's teammate leaves heartfelt gesture at his resting place

When Toronto Maple Leafs prospect, Rodion Amirov died in August of last year of brain cancer, it sent shock waves through the entire hockey world.a promising hockey player is one thing, but his impact and positivity outside of hockey was a wonderful thing to see.

According to Hockey News Hub the captain of Rodion Amirov's KHL club left a heartfelt gesture at his grave site; take a look.

Salavat captain Grigori Panin visited #LeafsForever Rodion Amirov's grave and left a skate with the number 27 on it. 🙏

"I have a big request, please don't take this skate. Let it remain there as a memory of him. Thank you all very much,» said Panin.

Salavat captain Grigori Panim visited the grave of Amirov and left him a skate in his honour with his number 27 engraved on it. Panim wants the skate to stay there as memory of how much Amirov loved the game of hockey.

What a heartwarming gesture that serves as a reminder of not only how good hockey players can be, but how much Amirov touched the hockey world.
