Last night things boiled over between two teams, who don't see each other often. It's always interesting to see two teams who don't have a rivalry get heated, especially when Anaheim and Carolina play no more than twice a year.
Things started to pick up in the first period, when Carolina Hurricanes' Andrei Svechnikov laid a big hit on Anaheim Ducks' Kevin Shattenkirk, the hit caused a scrum but very little developed.
Things got even more heater in the 2nd period when Anaheim Ducks' Captain, Ryan Getzlaf was penalized with a few violation. Getzlaf definitely let the linesman know how he felt about the call.
That wasn't the end of a pissed off Getzlaf as things continued late in the 2nd period. Andrei Svechnikov was at it again but made a poor choice, especially as he tried to throw a knee-on-knee cheap shot on the Getzlaf.
That's when things explode. Getzlaf clearly pissed had enough and tried to do everything in his power to get hold of Svechnikov.
