Ryan Reynolds confirms whether he's actually interested in buying the Ottawa Senators
The Ottawa Senators have announced the sale of their franchise this fall. Sadly since the passing of previous owner Eugene Melnyk, the team is looking for a new ownership. Rumors have started that Hollywood movie star Ryan Reynolds would be interested in purchasing the team. Reynolds is from Vancouver, British Colombia and has always been a big hockey fan.
Last night after appearing in The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, Reynolds did confirm that he his interested in buying the Ottawa Senators. This is good news for Ottawa. Reynolds is a passionate fan and successful movie star that would love to own an NHL franchise. Reynolds also has a likeable personality. How would that translate to Reynolds being an NHL owner? We would have to wait and see. Typically purchasing a sports team will take some time. There could also be other potential buyers as well. So, this is a situation to keep an eye on.
The Senators have made a lot of exciting off-season moves this year. They're looking to turn this team back into a playoff contender and get fans back at the rink on a nightly basis. It has been talked about for several years that the team needs an arena closer to the downtown area. So important changes could be apart of the Senators future. Having a new owner that wants to keep the team in Ottawa and keep them competitive is good news for Senators fans.
