During Game 3, between the St. Louis Blues and Colorado Avalanche, Samuel Girard took a nasty hit into the boards. Girard fell to the ice in pain, before being rushed to the locker room in serious pain.
After the game, Head Coach, Jared Bednar provided an update on Girard. Girard was sent to a local hospital during the game and had since been diagnosed with a broken sternum. Unfortunately for Girard, the recovery time for that injury is usually a three month minimum. This injury will keep Samuel Girard out for the rest of the post-season, no matter how far the Colorado Avalanche go. Girard is a key piece for that defence core and power play. This is a big loss.
