Scary scene in Montreal - Chris Tanev knocked out by puck to the head
Chris Tanev is known as one of the toughest players in the NHL. He has no fear when it comes to blocking shots and that has led to multiple injuries over his career. Tonight it appears that Tanev has suffered a serious injury.
With the Flames on the penalty kill, Tanev fearlessly gets in the lane or a Nick Suzuki one-timer. Unfortunately the Suzuki shot rises much quicker than expected and strikes Tanev in the side of the head. Tanev immediately falls to the ice and is in obvious trouble.
Tanev has to be helped off of the ice by teammates and was immediately taken down the tunnel to the Flames dressing room. Tanev was accompanied by the Head Trainer for both the Flames and Canadiens.
Hopefully Tanev is alright, as we keep him in our thoughts.
