Sharks sign 2 pending restricted free agents
The San Jose Sharks locked up one of their pending RFAs, signing forward Luke Kunin to a two-year deal worth $5.5 million. The deal carries an average annual value of $2.75 million.
The 15th pick in 2016 will remain an RFA with arbitration rights at the end of the contract and can become an unrestricted free agent in 2025.
Kunin was acquired by the Sharks from Nashville on July 8 for forward John Leonard and a 2023 third-round draft pick.
Kunin had 13 goals and 22 points in 82 games last season.
According to Kevin Weekes the Sharks have also locked up restricted free agent, Kaapo Kahkonen. Kahkonen was acquired in a trade for Jacob Middleton at the trade deadline.
The deal for Kahkonen will pay him $5,500,000 over the 2 year term.
