In life when you get a second chance you need to take full advantage of it. The son of Philadelphia Flyers general manager Daniel Briere, is getting another chance to revive his hockey career.

23 year old Carson has signed a contract with HC 19 Humenné of the Slovak Extraliga league. This is the highest level of hockey in Slovakia. The team was formed in 2019 and won the Slovak 1. Liga league this past season.

Carson was dismissed from the Mercyhurst University men's hockey team, a Division 1 team in the NCAA, after surveillance video footage emerged of his having pushed an unoccupied wheelchair down the stairs of Sullivan's Pub in Erie, Pennsylvania. He was later charged with second-degree criminal mischief and disorderly conduct.

In three years at the college, he played in 82 games and recorded 59 points.

Carson released a statement on the incident that occurred in March.

"There is no excuse for my actions, and I will do whatever I can to make up for this serious lack of judgment."

Carson's father Danny Briere shared his disappointment in his sons actions:

"I was shocked to see Carson's actions in the video that was shared on social media yesterday. They are inexcusable and run completely counter to our family's values on treating people with respect. Carson is very sorry and accepts full responsibility for his behavior."

Time will tell if Carson has learned from his past mistakes.
