The New York Rangers have some of the brightest young players in the entire NHL. This includes the 2nd overall pick from the 2019 NHL Draft, Kaapo Kakko. During his off season training Kakko would show off that he's been working on his shot.
In a video shared Kakko shows off his shot. Kakko launches a blistering slap shot, that was recorded at 172 kilometers an hour.
Which is nearly 107 miles per hour that's around the same shot power as Shea Weber and very close to the hardest shot of all time Zdeno Chara with a 108.8 miles per hour shot.
Kakko, 21, is still gaining strength and muscle, so don't be surprised to see him trying his luck during the hardest shot competition someday.
