Team Canada announces the perfect Captain for this year's World Juniors Tournament

Last week Team Canada named their roster for this year's World Juniors tournament. The roster is highlighted by expected 1st overall pick in the upcoming NHL Draft, Connor Bedard. Along with Bedard the team is highlighted by a trio of NHL players as well, including Shane Wright, Dylan Guenther and Brandt Clarke.

With the tournament set to begin on Boxing Day Team Canada officially named their on ice leadership group for the tournament. As per usual the team made the announcement on ice and in front of the entire team.

The coaching staff named Shane Wright as the team's captain. After the year Wright has has this is a much deserved honour for the former 4th overall pick. Canada also named 4 assistant captains.

Ethan Del Mastro, Dylan Guenther, Nathan Gaucher and Logan Stankoven will wear the "A" for Canada. The games will be split with two players wearing the "A" at home, while the others will wear it on the road.

Canada starts their tournament Boxing Day against Czechia.
