Officials confirm cause of death released in death of 18-year-old hockey player
Yesterday the Ontario Hockey League and London Knights released the heartbreaking statement about the sudden death of Abakar Kazbekov. The news caught the hockey world off guard and was followed by an outpouring of love and support.
Now more news has been released about the incident which led to the death of Kazbekov. While initial reports reported simply that a body was found, the London Police have now confirmed the following details.
"Around 8:20 a.m. members of the London Police Service were dispatched to attend the intersection of Dufferin Avenue and Talbot Street for a person that had reportedly fallen from the building," said LPS Const. Travis Buckle, "Officers arrived on scene and located a person who was deceased.»
The London Police added there are no signs of foul play and the death is being investigated as a suicide.
Kazbekov had his season limited due to injuries, but hours before his death he was on the ice with his teammates for a game against the Owen Sound Attack.
Our thoughts and prayers go out to everyone impacted by this tragedy.
