The Arizona Coyotes find a brand new way to embarrass themselves and the NHL
The Arizona Coyotes move to the ASU Multipurpose Center has been widely labeled a failure. Despite the fact that is likely to offer a very intimate experience, fans have universally criticized the NHL and Coyotes for this decision. The 5,000 seat arena the Coyotes will play in seems small compared to the rest of the league, but this week the Coyotes have announced something even more embarrassing.
The Coyotes announced a new partnership with the Atlanta Gladiators of the ECHL. In the announcement the Coyotes shared the following:
The Gladiators franchise is entering its 26th season in the ECHL and plays its home games at Gas South Arena in Duluth, GA. Atlanta, who is one of 28 teams that competes in the ECHL, plays in the South Division of the Eastern Conference.
So what makes this embarrassing?
The new home of the Coyote's ECHL affiliate will play in a stadium with 8,000 more seats than the NHL themselves. So as one Twitter account put it.
