The Colorado Avalanche include Jack Johnson in a beautiful moment
The Colorado Avalanche started the season with a 5-2 win over the Chicago Blackhawks. As is the tradition, before the game the Avalanche raised their championship banner to begin the season. In doing so, they made a classy gesture to their former teammate Jack Johnson who was part of their championship run last year. Recently, Johnson signed a one-year deal with the Blackhawks.
Jack Johnson is one of those guys your happy to see win the cup. He's been in the NHL since 2006. Even though he's not the skater he was back then, he filled in admirably when called upon in Colorado.
Even though he was dressed in another uniform, his teammates were quick to recognize him and embrace him as the championship banner was raised. It was a real nice moment for Johnson and for the Avalanche. Everyone was all smiles. And why not? They're 2022 Stanley Cup Champions. Watch the video below it's well worth it.
