The New York Rangers are looking at bringing back a former top prospect
There is a rumor going around that the New York Rangers may be interested in bringing back former Hobey Baker Award winner, Jimmy Vesey.
Vesey, who has become an NHL journeyman has been shuffled around the league recently, as his production took a hit in 2019-2020 and may or may not recover, as recently he only posted 15 points with the New Jersey Devils last year.
Vesey spent his first three years in the league with the Rangers, and each year his production increased until his move to Buffalo.
As a returning journeyman, he could return to camp and become a mentor to the younger wingers, such as Kapo Kakko or Vitali Kravtsov. However, it seems he'll be destined for a fourth-line role, on a minimum salary.
Or he could end up in Hartford with the Wolfpack and his $750,000.00 minimum salary will not count against the cap.
It's hard telling when Gallant and Drury are running the show now, that being said having flexibility on the bottom six is not a bad thing.
