Earlier this week, the OHL announced an indefinite suspension for the LA Kings' 8th overall pick in the 2021 draft, Brandt Clarke. The OHL's policy is to always immediately announce an indefinite suspension and dole out the penalty at a later date; today, the league came down hard on Brandt Clarke.
The young defenceman was suspended 8 games for the hit he delivered to Canadiens prospect Jan Mysak. Although Mysak was injured on the play, the hit appears clean from the angle that's circulating on the internet, as you can see below.
The OHL has harsh rules against checks to the head, and in an instance where the player was unfortunately injured, the league feels justified in suspending Clarke 8 games. However, some fans don't see the check as suspension-worthy in the first place. What do you think?
