Three players hit waivers as teams prepare for the trade deadline
Two days before the NHL Trade Deadline it appears teams are beginning to prepare their roster for what might come to fruition in the next 48+ hours. Today three teams looked to clear both cap space and a roster spot as they placed players on waivers.
The Nashville Predators placed defenseman, Philippe Myers on waivers. Myers. The 6'5, 210 lbs. Myers has 4 points in 27 games for the Predators this season.
The Philadelphia Flyers also placed Gerry Mayhew on waivers. Mayhew has 6 goals in 25 games this season, but the 29-year-old hasn't scored in his last 9 games.
Last the Winnipeg Jets placed Philippe Desrosiers on waivers. The Jets signed Desrosiers Saturday and as part of the deal he must clear waivers before joining the Jets organization.
