Before Brad Treliving became the General Manager of the Toronto Maple Leafs, he was the long-time GM of the Calgary Flames. Even though he didn't leave Calgary on the best of terms, some things are bigger than the game of hockey.

According to Lance Horby a Leafs writer for Post Media Brad Treliving has left the Leafs to be with the family of Chris Snow. Snow was Treliving's Assistant General Manager during his time with the Flames.

Sportsnet reports Leafs GM Brad Treliving has flown to Calgary to be with the family of his former assistant Chris Snow. Battling ALS, Snow became unresponsive and went into cardiac arrest. He is not expected to wake up said his wife Kelsie in a post earlier Wednesday.

Kelsie, Chris's wife made a heartbreaking post yesterday about Chris going into cardiac arrest and having to be rushed to the hospital unresponsive. Doctors do not expect Chris to regain consciousness.

Despite the timing, Brad Treliving made the decision that he needs to be there to support his friend and his family. With so many decisions to be made about the Leafs roster, many would expect Treliving's focus to be on the team, but instead it is right where it should be, with one of his best friends.

Our thoughts and prayers continue to go out to the Snow Family and to Chris at this difficult time.
