Toronto Maple Leafs attempted to acquire Ryan O'Reilly but the reported asking price is insane
The Toronto Maple Leafs have been a team mired in mediocrity for as long as I can remember, then, Auston Matthews was gifted to them in 2016. Still, the Leafs, despite making the playoffs every year since have not made it out of the first round. Something has to give. That something is not Ryan O'Reilly.
According to Jeremy Rutherford of The Athletic, the asking price for O'Reilly in my opinion is just too high, take a look:

O'Reilly, 31, has skated in 37 games for the St. Louis Blues this season, tallying just 10 goals and 6 assists for a total of just 16 points.
If O'Reilly went to a better team at the deadline. I'm sure those numbers will inflate, but I just don't see the Leafs mortgaging their future in Fraser Minten of Matthew Knies and a first round pick for a declining O'Reilly.
Don't get me wrong, I think the Leafs need to make a move at the deadline for sure, I'm just not sold on O'Reilly being the target for the leafs.
