Toronto Maple Leafs forced to trade a 1st round pick to move Petr Mrazek
When the Toronto Maple Leafs signed Petr Mrazek they had high hopes for his ability to be a tandem goaltender. Unfortunately Mrazek's first season in Toronto couldn't have gone much worse. Mrazek went 12-6-0 but poster an .888 save percentage and a goals against average of .888.
It was made clear that the Leafs had no intentions of bringing Mrazek back, but it cost them. According to Frank Seravalli the Leafs were forced to trade their 1st round pick, 25th overall to move Mrazek.
Hearing #Leafs are trading Petr Mrazek to #Blackhawks. Believe it involves No. 25 and Mrazek for No. 38 overall.
This is simply the Leafs trying to clean up a mistake they made during free agency. The second mistake they've had to clear up this season, following trading a 2nd round pick to move Nick Ritchie.
