Vancouver Canucks called an NHL Insider and blamed them for the Bruce Boudreau situation
The last 24 hours have been a cavalcade of nonsense, as the Vancouver Canucks under Jim Rutherford set another bad precedent for the sport. The ripple effects of these decisions have affected the fanbase and perception of the team.
The Canucks have made a terrible decision firing Bruce Boudreau 14 months into his tenure, but even worse than the decision to fire Boudreau, is how they let the process go about.
Jim Rutherford and Patrik Allvin are so desperate for someone to blame that they reached out to Elliotte Friedman and told him that the entire situation regarding Boudreau was his fault.
The attempt to control the narrative after the damage has been done shows how unprofessional and careless Rutherford has been regarding Boudreau's time as a coach. Boudreau doesn't share all the blame, as he worked best with the hand dealt to him, as this problem extends to Jim Benning's time as GM and no doubt ownership has some share of that blame as well.
Boudreau never got a fair shot in Vancouver and it's not like the players helped him much either.
