Vancouver Canucks forward left last night's game with what appeared to be a significant injury, but it's another forward who had been forced to undergo surgery. Today the Canucks announced that forward Brock Boeser underwent hand surgery on an injury he suffered on Day 3 of training camp.

The surgery is expected to keep Boeser out of action for 3-4 weeks. Boeser had been notably absent from Canucks practice and from games. It wasn't until this announcement that fans received clarity on the injury.

Vancouver Canucks F Brock Boeser underwent successful hand surgery. He will return in 3-4 weeks. Boeser hurt himself at practice on day three of Canucks Training Camp in Whistler, Saturday, September 24th.

This is a tough break for Boeser and marks the third time in the last four years that he was injured during or immediately before training camp. If injuries like this continue you have to believe the Canucks will look into Border's off ice routines as it continues to disrupt his seasons.

Tough luck for Boeser, who has sustained some sort of injury - all of them unrelated - during (or right before) training camp in 3 of the past 4 years.
