The Winnipeg Jets are in top form this season with Rick Bowness at the helm and one-key piece of their identity, along with Blake Wheeler and Mark Schiefle is Centerman Pierre-Luc Dubois.

Dubois arrived in Winnipeg, after a spat with John Tortorella and a lazy shift, he was moved for Jack Roslovic and Patrik Laine. Bowness is aware of the situation and offered an opinion on the topic.

Dubois is going to do what's best for him and his career. All I can do is tell him I'd love to see him to be a Winnipeg Jet for a long time and I'll do everything I can to keep you in a Winnipeg Jet uniform.

Bowness expounded upon the situation, understanding that Dubois will do what is best for his career, despite the fact he'd like to see Dubois remain a Jet.

The possibility of Dubois becoming a UFA is as soon as July 2024, if he files for arbitration or signs a qualifying offer. Dubois' agent Pat Brisson mentioned that Montreal is a desirable place to play for the Center and it's not as if trade discussions between the two clubs haven't happened before, as they have. PLD's ultimate goal is a Stanley Cup and the dynamic two-way center has yet to find it in Winnipeg, 3 years into his stay there.

As a forward who has consistently put up no less than 40 points in his 6 year NHL career, I don't see why Kent Hughes wouldn't make an offer, considering Kirby Dach is still going through growing pains and Christian Dvorak is more or less a depth piece.
