It was a crazy incident that has since gone viral.
After the violence seemingly ended, Bissonnette called 911 to report what had happened and his involvement in it.
He was clearly winded and a bit disoriented as he talked on the phone, breathing heavily throughout the conversation as his adrenalin wore off.
He described what happened to the best of his abilities while repeatedly clarifying that he was just trying to defend the employees of the restaurant, who took the initial brunt of the violence from the drunk men.
The dispatcher responded, asking if Bissonnette was being punched himself. The former NHL enforcer responded in the affirmative.
The full call lasts for five minutes. You can listen to the entire thing in the post below.
Yesterday, footage of the incident was released that showed a large group of men following Bissonnette, who retreated away from the business.
Unfortunately, the video does not show the entire thing as it is from the parking lot. Furthermore, it is from odd angles and simply cannot capture everything that happened.
However, as more evidence comes to light, it is becoming increasingly clear exactly what happened that night.
The instigators including Sean Daley, William Carroll, and Danny Bradley, are now facing serious charges, including one felony.
This story continues to evolve every day as we learn more about what happened, so be sure to stay tuned for more updates.
Until then, you can continue to enjoy Bissonnette's commentary on the NHL on TNT.
