A car crash on a snowy night has resulted in the death of 16-year-old hockey player Aaron Cheadle, who is being remembered as someone who always gave 100 percent

It's been a tough few days in the hockey world, and the terrible news continues to mount with another death.

A young hockey player from Minnesota has been killed after the car he was driving struck a tree in snowy weather while he was on his way to a game.

"The victim - identified Monday as 16-year-old Aaron Michael Benjamin Cheadle of Browerville - was driving a Ford Taurus northbound on Highway 71 around 10 p.m. near Little Sauk Township when the car went off the road and struck a tree near 150th Street, according to the Minnesota State Patrol website.

Cheadle was pronounced dead at Centracare Sauk Centre Hospital. "

Aaron Cheadle is being remembered as someone who gave hockey his all every time he was on the ice. He had just started playing varsity hockey for the Prairie Centre North Stars.

The Minnesota hockey community was already reeling from the passing of Max Akerson following a battle with liver cancer.

There was also the death of a 17-year-old hockey player who collapsed on the ice during a charity game.

Meanwhile, in St. Louis, another 16-year-old player was the victim of a violent crime.

Our sincere condolences to the family, friends and teammates of Aaron Cheadle. Hopefully the tragedies in the hockey community stop soon.
