The Edmonton Oilers have had an amazing turn around this year from the early portion of the year into one of the best teams in the National Hockey League, which makes this report all the more surprising as one of their top players is being pursued by this eastern conference team.
According to Jim Matheson of the Edmonton Journal, the Boston Bruins are going to do everything they can to pry Leon Draisaitl from the Oilers; take a look.
Although, Matheson also mentions that he does believe Draisaitl does want to sign an extension and stay in Edmonton, the Bruins will move heaven an earth' to try to get him in a Boston Jersey.
Draisaitl, 28, is one of the best players in the NHL in recent years- through 70 games with the Oilers this season, he has scored 38 times and added 55 assists for a total of 93 points.
This seems very unlikely, but with reports also indicating that it might be harder to sign Draisaitl when he's eligible to sign an extension; if this drags out for any length of time, the more likely this would become.
As this goes into the off-season, it'll be something to watch for sure.
