Two teams who have been active on the NHL trade market recently have pulled of an exchange of forwards and draft picks.
The Colorado Avalanche have acquired 23-year-old forward Juuso Parssinen from the Nashville Predators in exchange for 24-year-old forward Ondrej Pavel.
The Avalanche gave up a third round pick in next year's draft in the deal, while the Predators added a seventh rounder.
Juuso Parssinen has suited up in 15 games for the Predators in 2024-25, registering five points (2G, 3A). Four of those five points came over a four-game point streak from Nov. 6-11 while also scoring in back-to-back games.
Ondrej Pavel, 24, has two assists and 16 penalty minutes in 14 games with the AHL's Colorado Eagles in 2024-25, his second full professional season.
Pavel made his NHL debut with the Avalanche on Nov. 7, 2023 against the New Jersey Devils and went on to play in one more game for Colorado that season.
Predators GM Barry Trotz recently flipped Alexandre Carrier to the Montreal Canadiens in a one-for-one trade for defenceman Justin Barron.
Meanwhile, Joe Sakic of the Colorado Avalanche recently signed goaltender MacKenzie Blackwood to a five year, $25 million dollar contract extension after picking him up in the a trade with a San Jose Sharks a few weeks earlier.
