Last night, the Philadelphia Flyers were in Long Island to face the New York Islanders in a Metropolitan Division matchup.
John Tortorella and his men ended up winning 5-3 against Patrick Roy's team, marking the Flyers' third win in the last four games.
The Flyers bounced back after a tough first period, where the New York Islanders scored the first goal and the forward Ryan Poehling was injured less than 10 minutes into the game.
Indeed, he was severely hit by the Islanders' Russian forward Maxim Tsyplakov in an attempt to make his way to the net with the puck.

This announcement surprised many people, as we can see that Tsyplakov hit Poehling on the shoulder before hitting his head. Some experts even called the incident a "clean hit":
On the play, the referees didn't even give him a penalty after reviewing the hit.
After the game, Tortorella opened up on the hit, saying that his team came back stronger in the second to rally for their fallen teammate:
It's very unusual to see the DoPS holding hearings for clean hits. Fans and experts are eagerly waiting to get an official explanation from the league after they announce their verdict.
