Ilya Samsonov tests the censors with NSFW response to how he feels about Sergei Bobrovsky
Ilya Samsonov had esteemed himself to the Toronto Maple Leaf fans since arriving this off-season as a UFA after parting ways with Washington. The fit between himself and the Leafs seems perfect, further proof was the 26 year old posting the best numbers of his career in the regular season. A 27-10-5 record with a .919 save percentage and 2.33 GAA.
Samsonov and the Toronto has already gifted Leaf's fans by breaking the 19 year curse of getting past the first round and now everyone in the hockey capital is hungry for more.
Things got a bit tougher after Thursday nights result a 3-2 Panthers victory to give Florida a commanding 2-0 series lead.
Samsonov has been known to give a good quote on his short tenure in Toronto. After the game he didn't disappoint.
Asked about the performance of Florida goalie Sergei Bobrovsky, Samsonov wasn't exactly quick to offer praise to his opposing counterpart.
"I don't give a f---,»
Samsanov said to the media post game.
"It doesn't matter to me, I'm doing my work, he's doing his work."
Bobrovsky has a .944 save percentage in the two games against Toronto so far, making 68 of 72 saves to backstop the visitors to a road victory. He gave up two Leafs goals in the first 5:10 of Thursday's contest, but shut the door the rest of the way.
Samsonov was a lot more calm about the loss in Game 1. Understandably so the pressure cooker has been turned up a few notches as the series goes on.

Samsonov told reporters on Tuesday night.
«Bad result. But first game, yeah? Head's up. After every game, head's up, and keep on working.»
Samsonov has a 4-4-0 record with a goals against average of 3.27 and a save percentage of .895 for the Leafs in the playoffs.
