Toronto Maple Leafs provide update on forward Matthew Knies
Last night, the Toronto Maple Leafs and the Florida Panthers faced off in game two of their Eastern Conference semifinal matchup, where rookie forward Matthew Knies left the game game after the first period after taking a hit from Matthew Tkaxhuk and being thrown to the ice by Sam Bennett.
Now, according to Sportsnet's Like Fox, The Leafs have provided and injury update on the rookie forward, take a look:
Matthew Knies diagnosed with a concussion. Out for games 3 and 4, per Keefe. "Unlikely" to return to series.
Knies, 20, certainly made his mark on the Leafs through the first 8 games of their playoff run collecting 1 goal and 3 assists in the 7 games he played for a total of 4 points.
It was clear that Knies was targeted during the first period of game two, but it's crazy to be that on the tackle that ultimately made he leave the game wasn't called.
