the NHL is proving they don't want the Toronto Maple Leafs to win as officials are announced ahead of game 3
With game 3 between the Florida Panthers and the Toronto Maple Leafs art to be played in Florida tonight, the NHL announces yet another suspect officiating crew to call the game.
According to Chirs Johnston of TSN, officials Wes Mcauley and Dan O'Rourke will be calling the game, take a look:
Anytime you have a referee and a head coach with a past involved in the same game, it'd never good, particularly when it's Sheldon Keefe and Wes McCauley, it becomes suspect given their history.
On the other hand, this gives Leaf fans an excuse already heading into game 3 should they come out on the losing end which is never good either.
At what point does the discourse on the officiating of every single game stop? It's one thing to acknowledge that the assignment will always be a little suspect, but the Leafs also just have to simply bare down and find a way to win hockey games. The excuses at some point, no matter the circumstances have to stop.
