Edmonton Oilers give up on former 1st round pick send him packing in trade
When it comes to competing for a Stanley Cup, every dollar matters. That is exactly why the Edmonton Oilers have been so committed to ensuring they get every dollar possible out of every player possible. This led to the team moving former first round pick Jesse Puljujarvi at the trade deadline and now sees another former first rounder head out the door.
After weeks of rumors, it appears the Edmonton Oilers have traded Kailer Yamamoto to the Detroit Red Wings.
The #Oilers have traded forward Kailer Yamamoto & forward Klim Kostin to the Detroit Red Wings in exchange for future considerations. The deal sees absolutely nothing coming back to Edmonton in return and is purely a salary dump. In the deal, the Oilers clear Yamamoto's full 3.1 million cap hit.
