According to Frank Seravalli the Edmonton Oilers reportedly have agreed to another trade for a defender that could occur sooner than expected

The Edmonton Oilers were bust one win away from becoming Stanley Cup Champions. After years of disappointment Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl finally willed the Oilers over the hump. However, as it happens, the salary cap has finally caught up to the Oilers.

With McDavid, Draistalt and defender Evan Bouchard all requiring new contracts, things have been tight in Edmonton. After two predatory offer sheets the Oilers lost both Dylan Holloway and Philip Broberg last week and have been forced to turn to the trade route to find alternative solutions.

The Mug on Instagram shared the following:

Frank Seravalli reports that the Edmonton Oilers have another trade lined up for a right-handed defender, and could have it completed by training camp.

They are still considering going the PTO route, but have reportedly found an option on the trade market, and continue to gauge all options.

After trading Cody Ceci, the Oilers are in need of depth on their right side, but only time will tell if this deal will actually come together.
