This afternoon another trade has gone down involving the Vancouver Canucks this time sending a defenseman to the Nashville Predators.

The Vancouver Canucks continue their rampage of trades that was kicked off by sending J.T. Miller to the New York Rangers.

Today they have continued their path toward rebuilding their roster with yet another trade to send away defenseman Mark Friedman.

According to reports Friedman will be sent to the Nashville Predators for future considerations.

Friedman who is an NHL veteran had been having a hard time finding ice time in the NHL with the Canucks and now will get another opportunity in Nashville.

Throughout this season with the Canucks Friedman had played just 5 NHL games and only 20 in the AHL being a bit of an in-between player for the Canucks.

Prior to landing in Vancouver Friedman had also been a fringe player for the Pittsburgh Penguins unable to find a way to break through full-time.

This was likely the Canucks doing Friedman a favor after acquiring another quality defenseman in Marcus Pettersson by letting him go to a new team and situation.

The Predators announced that Friedman would report to the AHL with the Milwaukee Admirals just after the trade was broken.

At 29 years old Friedman is looking to make good on his latest NHL opportunity with the Predators who have struggled with defensive depth all season long.

Overall this trade gives Friedman a fresh start and allows the Canucks to play some of their younger players more minutes in the AHL without having to straight-up bench a veteran.

As his pro hockey journey continues it will be interesting to see if Friedman can claw his way back to the NHL in a new home.
