Insider provides video Edmonton Oilers are trying to intentionally injury Vegas Golden Knights player, only a year after complaining it was being done to them
The Vegas Golden Knights and the Edmonton Oilers began their second-round playoff series last night. Golden Knights captain Mark Stone, who's been dealing with back issues all year, clearly had a target placed squarely on his back.
Early on Wednesday video leaked of Stone clearly laboring after what appeared to be tweaking his back during practice. It was clear the Edmonton Oilers took note of the injury and were going to try and exploit it. During the first intermission, the Sportsnet panel discussed why it's essential to try and keep injuries under wraps, even the most documented ones.
The team's at any time are looking for a competitive advantage and knowing one of Vegas's star players isn't at 100 percent means that liberties will be taken, especially in the playoffs. I don't think any of the shots shown to Stone's back were malicious, but repeated blows, either way, will not feel good.
This is a prime example as to why teams and players never reveal their injuries until after they're out of the playoffs, it'll only make things worse, especially for Stone who missed quite a long stretch on LTIR after back surgery this season. This behavior is highly questionable after the Edmonton Oilers filed multiple complaints last season complaining that the Calgary Flames were intentionally targeting the injured ankle of Leon Draisaitl.
So is this fair play, or an unfair attempt to injure?
