Jamie Benn is the Captain of the Dallas Stars. He's supposed to be the leader in the locker room and on the ice. He is supposed to preach accountability for himself and for his teammates. However last night Benn took a much different approach.

With the Stars already trailing their Western Conference Final 2-0, Benn tried to set physical tone early in the game. Instead, he crossed the line and found himself ejected less than 2 minutes over the game after a cross check to the head of Mark Stone.

By the end of the powerplay the Stars trailed the game 3-0 and would never get back to even footing. Losing the game 4-0.

After the game the media was waiting to speak to Benn about his actions. However, instead of standing in front of a microphone to own his behaviour Benn opted for another route.

Jamie Benn just walked out of the arena and got in his car without talking to the media, after he was issued a game misconduct 1:53 into Game 3 for cross-checking.

The Stars now trail their series 3-0 and face elimination on Wednesday night and they'll likely face it without their captain, who is likely to receive supplemental discipline for his actions.

Was it right for Benn not to speak to the media after the game? Craig Button likely put it best.
