Marcus Foligno left the Buffalo Sabres eight years ago in free agency, and now the veteran forward has fired a shot at his former team after their dreadful run of current form has become the talking point of the NHL.

It's no secret that the Buffalo Sabres have struggled recently, as any hope of breaking their Stanley Cup Playoff drought has seemingly gone down the drain with their current 12-game losing skid.

That forced owner Terry Pegula to meet with the team and affirm his confidence in them, but things haven't gotten any better since that point, as the team are slumping further and further down the standings in the Eastern Conference.

Things haven't been perfect in Minnesota as of late either, with the team dropping four of their last five games, but according to the Wild's Marcus Foligno, there's definitely one spot he'd prefer to be.

I'd rather be in this position than Buffalo.

While it's a hilarious shot from the 33-year old veteran, many fans in the comments on social media have taken pity on the Sabres, and given that the Wild aren't exactly the class of the NHL either, many believe it was an unnecessary shot.

However, given that the Sabres hold the NHL's current longest Stanley Cup Playoff drought, they'll always be the butt of the joke in the NHL until they step up and prove people wrong, and for now, that simply isn't going to happen anytime soon.

As for Foligno, he has posted a solid 4 goals and 11 points in 33 games this season, with the team being led by superstar Kirill Kaprizov, and while their losing skid certainly isn't as bad as the Sabres, it's safe to say that if things continue like this, there will be plenty of worries in Minnesota.
