The Four Nations was a major win for the NHL, and after some great performances and a major injury, Charlie McAvoy has opened up on the wild tournament.

Charlie McAvoy went through a wild ride at the Four Nations Face Off tournament, and ultimately, his run ended after suffering a brutal injury, with the poor handling of his situation becoming a major story of the tournament.

Now, after he watched his team fall in overtime of the Finale against Team Canada from the sidelines due to the injury, McAvoy has addressed the wild ride that was the past few weeks on social media, detailing the ups and downs of his chance to represent the United States.

Hard to put into words the events and emotions of the last two weeks. First off, being able to play in the 4 nations and wear the USA Hockey jersey again was such an incredible honor. What an amazing group it was to be a part of and I truly enjoyed every second of the time spent in Montreal getting to play and experience something so special.

After getting back to Boston, things unfortunately took a scary turn with my injury and I had to spend four days in the hospital being treated for infection. I want to thank all the incredible people at Mass General for taking such great care of me. The team of Doctors: Peter Asnis, Tom Holovacs, Dean Donahue, and Sandra Nelson, the nurses, and all the amazing staff that treated me with such special care. I am so grateful for you all.

Lastly, thank you to all who reached out and for the well wishes. We're on the mend now and I look forward to being back on the ice as soon as I can with the Bruins.

While the tournament may have cost him some time for the Boston Bruins, McAvoy appears to be grateful for the experience that was the Four Nations, and with the 2026 Olympic Games right around the corner, don't be surprised to see him pushing for a top spot as they look to knock off Canada in best-on-best play for the first time in years.
